Acknowledging my gratitude for:
1) a very healthy hubby as he turns 51 today - which you'd never know unless I told you. Which I did. Just now. #hopehedoesntmind
2) no new snow even though it's still cold for spring
3) dark chocolate covered almonds. I may have eaten a few. They're calling to me from the desk drawer.
4) A girl who's happy to be back to school after March Break, and didn't kick and scream her way out the door this morning.
5) The opportunity to continue to learn, every day.
Joining others in finding Grace in small things.

Grace in Small Things
Joining the Grace in Small Things (GiST) movement.
1. The ever so speedy melting of many, many feet of snow at long last.
2. The sun fought through an incredible amount of gloom today and spirits lifted in response.
3. Seeing Rocketman working away on 4th line, while I was on my way to work this morning.
4. A week without evening activities for the Smidge – a nice break from the usual mayhem.
5. Yummy leftovers for lunch left me full and happy.
For my inaugural participation in Grace in Small Things
(GiST), my GiST list is:
1. The ever so speedy melting of many, many feet of snow at long last.
2. The sun fought through an incredible amount of gloom today and spirits lifted in response.

Progress....
#2 is done - there she is in all her glory. If you're thinking, wow that border is maybe a bit too much and takes away from the inside. Yes, you're likely right. I thought of that, but I didn't want to get in trouble with an eight-year-old who loved it. Ultimately, it's for her so I figured I would put my concerns aside and just GO. FOR. IT. in true child-like fashion.
If anyone's concerned about my battle with the calendar....relax. Really, this is for fun, right? I have to keep telling myself that. I can report though that both #3 and #4 are in progress. I have failed to give myself nice small projects in order to catch up. I figure I'll be doing that when we get to about November. ;)
Here's a sneak peak of #3.... or is it #4? The battle (for my time) ensues.
And no, I never said I would actually finish the edges of all of these rugs. That may....or may not...happen. Time will tell.

Sharing because that's what I do
Remember that poem...."All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten"? Share everything. So heeding that advise, I bring you a fabulous article that you'll enjoy reading. You're welcome.
And here's the poem in case this retro moment is getting you yearning to read it again:
by Robert Fulghum
Most of what I really need
To know about how to live
And what to do and how to be
I learned in kindergarten.
Wisdom was not at the top
Of the graduate school mountain,
But there in the sandpile at Sunday school.
These are the things I learned:
Share everything.
Play fair.
Don't hit people.
Put things back where you found them.
Clean up your own mess.
Don't take things that aren't yours.
Say you're sorry when you hurt somebody.
Wash your hands before you eat.
Flush.
Warm cookies and cold milk are good for you.
Live a balanced life -
Learn some and think some
And draw and paint and sing and dance
And play and work everyday some.
Take a nap every afternoon.
When you go out into the world,
Watch out for traffic,
Hold hands and stick together.
Be aware of wonder.

Technically speaking.....
Yes, I'm behind if you do the math. #15in2015 would require 1.25 projects to be completed per month. Which means by now I should be halfway through project #3. I get that. I can do the math, and I know being not-quite-finished project #2 doesn't cut it.
But you know what? It's going to have to.
In my defense, I haven't enjoyed project #1 and #2 so I think speed will pick up as I get into something more of interest to me. (She said with bravado she may or may not be feeling.)
This week is looking good for finishing #2 and getting #3 on the frame....really.
Pics coming soon of #2.
